Dan defines global marketing plans and programs for Autodesk’s MFG 360 and next-generation cloud software. In September 2012, Dan was named Director of Product Marketing at Adobe Creative Cloud, where he was responsible for driving global marketing. Prior to Adobe, he served as VP Marketing & Sales at Mindflash Technologies.
Tom Meredith, Central Texas Angel Network
Tom is the Chairman of the Board of Managers at Meritage Capital, a $1.1 billion boutique investment management firm. His career spans over 30 years and includes extensive experience in corporate finance, manufacturing, finance operations, and global financial markets. Prior to establishing Meritage in 2003, Tom served in various positions at Dell, including SVP of Business Development and Strategy, Managing Director of Dell Ventures and CFO.
Mr. James M. Schneider, also known as Jim, CPA, serves as an Operating Partner at Lead Edge Capital Management, LLC. Jim worked with Dell for nearly 10 years, ultimately serving as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President. Prior to joining Dell Computer in September 1996, he was with MCI, where he served as its Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance. For 19 years prior to joining MCI, Mr. Schneider was with the accounting firm of Price Waterhouse LLP and served as a Partner from October 1983 to September 1993. For two consecutive years, Institutional Investor named him a top Chief Financial Officer in I/T hardware and in 2003, he was named one of the 100 most influential Finance Executives by Treasury & Risk Management magazine. He is a Certified Public Accountant, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Carroll College, and is a Member of the Financial Executives Institute. In addition to Zilliant, James is on the boards of Frontier Bancshares, Horizon Bank, General Communications, Multlink Technology, Centro, and Maritime Systems & Sensors.
Rick is an Angel Investor, Founder/Owner of BlueStel Ventures, and entrepreneur within the retail eCom industry. Since 1999, Rick Founded and led Living Direct as CEO. Earlier this year, Living Direct was acquired by Build.com. Prior, Rick founded and was President of Avallon Global and was a Consultant with Accenture/Anderson Consulting.
Steve Leveen is the Co-founder and former CEO of Levenger, a consumer products company focused on readers. Steve authored two books, The Little Guide to Your Well-Read Life (2005) and Holding Dear: The Value of the Real (2013). Steve serves in various education roles for the Young Presidents’ Organization. Steve also serves on the board of the National Book Foundation and joined the board of Conscious Capitalism in 2013. Steve holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of California, San Diego, and Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Sociology from Cornell. He was also a 2015 Fellow at the Harvard ALI (Advanced Leadership Initiative) program.
Rick Timmons, Central Texas Angel Network
Rick serves as Chairman of the Board of the Central Texas Angel Network, one of the top five most active angel investing networks in the US and the largest in Texas. He is heavily involved in the Austin start-up community. In the past, Rick served as VP of Finance at Cisco Systems and Motorola.
Together with his wife Amy, they created Affinipay, a pioneer in the web payments solution business for associations. As CFO, John is responsible for the company’s business development activities including integrated partnerships, corporate development, and other strategic initiatives. Prior to Affinipay, John was Managing Director at Arabella Securities, Business Development Director at Luminex and an Associate Analyst at Solomon Smith Barney.
Kurt is the CEO of HireBetter. As an entrepreneur, Kurt has experience growing, scaling, and exiting high-growth companies and now devotes his time to helping business leaders unlock their own success. His responsibilities include strategic client consultation, client satisfaction, recruiting, and practice development. Prior to founding HireBetter, Kurt founded and led The Controller Group (TCG), a professional services firm focused on accounting, technology and recruiting, acquired by Tatum in 2006. Kurt also spent time at Ernst & Young and was Controller and VP of Finance for eFANshop, a Dallas-based internet retailer.
